In 2006, I applied for an advertised position. At that time I was employed by a supplier to the company which was then called ThyssenKrupp Tailored Blanks S.r.l., but the Italian subsidiary of ThyssenKrupp Tailored Blanks GmbH had always interested me as an employer. I had to seize this opportunity! I got lucky and was hired. I now control the commercial and technical affairs of my customers, mainly for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.
I have a special bond with people
As key account manager, I show my customers how they can reduce the weight and/or cost of their car through the use of laser-welded products. This requires close coordination with my technical colleagues in Italy, but it is also very important to work with colleagues from other sites as well. This makes it really interesting for me. I like the fact that I get to work with people who have different mindsets and outlooks, and learn a bit more every day about how to work well with them. The technical aspects of my job are also interesting, such as the knowledge of a new welding method for joining different materials.
We are a team
What I like about working at Baosteel Tailored Blanks S.r.l. is the colorful mix: I work with young colleagues who bring in new ideas, but also with colleagues who have been here for years and are happy to share their knowledge and experience. We work in a team where everyone is responsible for their duties, but does not lose sight of the big picture. And there's fun to be had, too.
I gladly take on new challenges
For me, a special challenge was the management of our innovation projects. As a project manager, I was responsible for the development and marketing of Tailored Aluminum Blanks – in short TAB® from 2014 to 2015. The special feature of this project: The team was made up of colleagues from different disciplines and countries. My colleagues came from Italy, Germany, Sweden, China and the United States. I learned a lot in that time. An incredible experience.
